Welcome To Our World!

In Uncategorized on September 28, 2008 at 8:36 pm

A world of truth, transparency, integrity and accountability.  A world where trust in media will one day be restored and it can once again deserve respect.  A world in which voters can become the informed electorate necessary for a democracy to survive and flourish with the best possible choices made by the voters.  A world in which history-making news is reported…in which ALL news is reported, truthfully, objectively, and regularly, and in which *news -readers* are eliminated in favor of true journalists who adhere strictly to journalistic professional standards and speak and report the facts regardless of personal opinion, pressure from within or inducement from without.

PUMAS Push Back!

Good evening everyone, and welcome to the birth of yet another PUMA, locked, loaded and ready to roll.  As politics and media have long since merged it has become increasingly and painfully evident that the time has come to reform both.  The 2008 Democrat Debacle has broken the hearts and hurt the souls of the 18 Million loyal Democrats who for most of their lives have embraced the “FDR” principles of Democracy at its best, embracing the Four Freedoms and looking after not just the few, but ALL Americans, making sure that Freedom and Human Rights apply to everyone.

In the near future, we will continue to build this site and welcome everyone willing to work for a better way: the restoration of our electoral rights and democratic process, the reform of the media to insure that never again is a candidate picked and railroaded through the electorate simply because they have had no chance to fully educate themselves on all candidates; and hold all those who would try to impede and lower journalistic professional standards accountable.

We welcome ideas and suggestions for media actions and expect to work in concert with any other group or affiliation with shared objectives, for it is only in numbers that we can succeed, and it is only, as Thomas Jefferson said, by staying silent that tyranny can thrive.

This is Rich…Hubris Redux

“On November 10, Governor Blagojevich, his wife, Harris, Governor General Counsel, and other Washington-based advisors participated at different times in a two-hour phone call in which they allegedly discussed, among other things, a deal involving the SEIU. Harris said they could work out a deal with the union and the President-elect where SEIU could help the President-elect with Blagojevich’s appointment of Senate Candidate 1, while Blagojevich would obtain a position as the National Director of the Change to Win campaign and SEIU would get something favorable from the President-elect in the future.”

At long last, Governor Blagojevich and his chief of staff, John Harris, were arrested early this morning on charges of conspiring to benefit financially from his role in appointing a U.S. senator to fill the vacancy left by Barack Obama’s election as president, along with illegally threatening to withhold state assistance to Tribune Co., the owner of the Chicago Tribune, in the sale of Wrigley Field. In return for state assistance, Blagojevich allegedly wanted members of the paper’s editorial board who had been critical of him fired.

Blagojevich also was charged with using his authority as governor in an attempt to press for campaign contributions, prosecutors said.

This, from the governor of Illinois, Obama’s “home” state. It has long been known that, as one of the most corrupt states in the Union, few things happen without the blessing and the knowledge of its governor. To deny that Obama knows about this, an every other transgression is belies either ignorance or stupidity, and probably both.

Tony Rezko has been convicted, just one of many in the endless parade of bad actors in this morality play gone wrong. One can only hope that the arrogance and hubris they share will bring them all down swiftly.
